Examination Information
The American Board of Managed Care Nursing (ABMCN) is pleased to announce that the Certified Managed Care Nurse (CMCN) examination is available through proctoring.
Now your Supervisor, Human Resources or Education Department will be able to proctor your exam that will allow you to take the CMCN examination at your work-site at a convenient time.
The examination itself will consist of approximately 150 multiple-choice questions having only one correct response. The exam will focus on vocabulary, concepts, and application of managed care in today’s healthcare environment as outlined in the candidates guide and will take approximately three hours to complete.

you must meet all
eligibility requirements set forth in the candidates guide. Please click here

purchase the preparatory course. Once you have
completed the prescribed course work, you have approximately 120 days to sit for
the ABMCN examination. The preparatory course
is available from the American Association of Managed Care Nurses (AAMCN).

www.aamcn.org to order the home study course. The AAMCN faculty
have outstanding professional credentials and expertise which complements
the competencies defined by the ABMCN. The ABMCN does not sponsor, endorse, or benefit financially from any AAMCN course work or materials used to prepare for the ABMCN board examination. Candidates may provide an affidavit that attests to completion of equivalent course work taken elsewhere.
In order to participate in the examination, you must complete the Application for Certification for Managed Care Nursing in its entirety and submit your current nursing license and the completed agreement to proctor. You will be contacted upon receipt of your application to review your eligibility.
Upon approval of your application, the ABMCN will send your examination material to your proctor. The proctor will then contact you to set up your examination.
